Happy Tuesday everyone! Today I’m sharing with you my moms recipe for Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies. These cookies are dog friendly and easy to make. And since you can’t go anywhere, you’ll definitely have time to try them out. This recipe is perfect for all levels of baking, from beginner to expert.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 Egg
1-1/2 Cup Plain Oatmeal
1 Tbsp Honey
1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
1 Small/Medium Overripe Banana
Preparation:
Mash up the overripe banana thoroughly in a medium sized bowl. In a blender or a grinder set (mom used her Oster Blend-N-Go), grind the oatmeal into a fine powder similar to flour. Preheat your oven to 350° (177 C).
Step One
In the medium sized bowl with your mashed banana add your egg, honey, and peanut butter. Mix all the ingredients together until smooth using your desired mixing tool/machine (mom used a traditional whisk).
Step Two
Begin mixing your powdered oatmeal into the medium sized bowl. Mix all ingredients until your oatmeal is completely dissolved into the mixture (final result will be sticky).
Step Three
Prep a baking sheet with cookie sheets. Roll your mixture into 1” balls and place at least 1-2” apart (can be further apart). Bake for 3-5 minutes.
Step Four
Remove cookies from oven. Using a fork press down on your cookies in one direction and again in the opposite direction (making a hashtag, mom only did one direction). Continue baking your cookies for 10-15 minutes.
Step Five
Cool your cookies for about 10-15 minutes after removing from the oven.
Step Six
Enjoy your cookies! (Best to enjoy within 7 days from baking)

Notes:
Make sure you use “dog friendly” peanut butter. Dog friendly peanut butter does not have xylitol. Examples of peanut butter brands that don’t use xylitol are Skippy, Jif, Smuckers and Peter Pan. For this recipe we used Skippy.
