Chewy Sweet Potato Snacks

Today’s post is all about making a tasty and healthy snack your fur pal(s) will love; Sweet Potato Chews! Mom tried sweet potato fries for the first time a few weeks ago (I know right?), so naturally I stole one when she wasn’t looking.

Mom’s seen sweet potato chews at the pet store before so she wasn’t too upset about me snagging one. But I did get an awful long lecture about not eating food I know isn’t for dogs. Which brought back horrible memories of me being fed activated charcoal as a pup, when I ate the delicious little green squishy balls from the fruit basket. *body shake* Any ways, she had this great idea of looking up how to make her own at home so I can have some healthier snacks to munch on. These chews are made of only one ingredient and taste AMAZING!

Here’s how you can make your own;

What you’ll need:

1 Sweet Potato (or more depending on how many fur pals you'll be feeding)

Preparation

Preheat your oven to 250º. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step One

Slice your sweet potato(s) 1/4” thick (in rounds or long ways, mom made rounds).

Step Two

Line your slices onto your baking sheet.

Step Three

Bake for 2-3 hrs. Making sure to turn your slices over half way through so they get evenly cooked.

Step Four

Remove from oven, cool. And enjoy!!

Super easy snacks that are healthy and cheaper than the pre-made ones at your local pet store. Place them in an air tight container in the fridge and your good on munchies for about 2-3 weeks.
